The 2009 Fabulous 50's Fling, Has Begun!

Well, I myself have not been to this year's Fabulous 50's Fling, but early reports from those who have, say Sugarcreek is a Hop-Hop-Hopping Dooo Whoppping Along! With a large number of classic cars cruising on in to town!

Saturday promises to be a great day of fun for everyone, young and "young at heart" alike. For the Kid's there is a Model Car Contest. Registration is from 10am-12pm, and is only $1.

Great food at even better prices! 50's Music! Poodle Skirts! Dancing! And Hot Cars! What more could you possibly want?!

I'll be there tomorrow checking it all out, my 8 yr. old daughter put together a '57 Chevy model to enter into the contest, she named it "SuperStar".

So head to Sugarcreek, Ohio, Saturday, June 13, and bring 'em all, no need for a babysitter. If you see me there, say "Hi."

Welcome to the new AmishCountry.TV!

Hello! Welcome to the all new AmishCountry.TV Blog! Here we will do our best to keep you informed of the "happenings and goings on's" throughout the World's Largest Amish Community.

Ohio's Amish Country, is a region that is made up of Holmes and Wayne Counties, as well as, parts of Tuscarawas, Coshocton, Stark, Knox, and Ashland Counties. Many unique sights and experiences can be had here when you visit. Here you will see many horse-drawn vehicles sharing the highways and byways... Amish children playing outside of their one-room schoolhouses, (yes, that's correct, children playing outside, what a novel concept)...and many more scenes, from years gone by, that play out before your eyes.

This region of Ohio has long been famous for the world class cheese, that is produced here, which is still the case today, but it isn't all about cheese anymore. Handcrafted hardwood furniture, is also a major industry thoughout the area, and we've seen growth in the number of the region's wineries.

The hospitality of Ohio's Amish Country, is what keeps visitor's coming back. The accomodations in the area, can range from simple comfort, to luxurious. Thinking of comfort, Ohio's Amish Country is definetly a leader in "comfort food" at prices, and portions that will make you smile. Can anyone say..."mmmmmmmmmashed potatoes"? How about "homemade pie"? And much much more...

So stay tuned, we'll do our best to keep you informed of what's happening in the area....you can get an inside look into some of the best places to visit by watching "AmishCountry.TV's Featured Destinations".
